Reminder about Inclement Weather
ELSA will be keeping eye on the City of Edmonton field status reports and any notifications received from the City or John Fry team as to whether diamonds are closed due to weather; if we are so advised, we will contact teams (coaches & manager contacts) playing that night via text and email that the games are cancelled. Please respond that you have received the communication.
Air Quality: In accordance with Softball Alberta’s guidelines, if the AQHI is a 7 or higher, games will be cancelled and will be notated as a ‘rainout’ to be rescheduled. The decision to cancel due to air quality will be made by the Program Coordinator, or Executive, no later than 5:00pm.
If you don't receive any communication from ELSA, the games are still a go and you should arrive to the diamonds ready to play as usual.
After 5:45 pm, games will be called at the diamonds, due to weather conditions, by the umpires. If no umpires show, refer to Rule 7 and to Rule 11, Section C (in the 2024 Operating Rules).
If a game is called at the diamond by the umpire, due to weather conditions, a discussion must take place between both teams and umpire to ensure everyone is informed of the decision. The scoresheet must signed by the umpire, with notation of rainout, for submission by the Home team.

Thanks.
